Final closure of a steele dust landfill cell

Groupe Alphard’s mandate concerned the engineering design and works supervision for the closure of a landfill cell. The final coverage installation included a composite leak proofing system comprised of geomembrane layer covering around 18,500 square meters. The landfill disposal of steel dusts in Quebec is subject to the Règelement sur les matières dangereuses (Ruling on Dangerous Materials). Following a successful call for bids process and the selection of a qualified contractor, Groupe Alphard were also responsible for supervising the civil, environmental and geotechnical works involved in the closure of the cell.
