Study of landfill options for the Wemindji Cree community
project outline
The Wemindji Cree First Nation wished to open a new waste material management center. Groupe Alphard was mandated to perform an evaluation of different landfill options on the proposed project site.
The principal technical challenge of the project was obtaining reliable data on the geology, hydrology and topography of the proposed site and to therefore evaluate the technical and regulatory feasibility of the different options. Groupe Alphard’s extensive experience in the development of confinement sites allowed for the presentation of various options adapted to the technical features of the proposed site.
